Kayseri Baklava is a traditional holiday dessert prepared with thinly rolled multi-layered dough, walnuts and butter. The labor-intensive rolling technique and sherbet balance form the basis of the home baklava tradition in the city.

  • olive oil
  • lemon
  • walnut inside
  • butter
  • sugar
  • wheat starch

Recipe

    Boil sherbet with sugar, water and lemon.

    Knead dough with egg, oil, lemon and flour and prepare meringues.

    Roll out the meringues thinly with starch.

    Arrange them in layers on the tray and add walnuts and butter in between.
