Baklalı Rice is one of the prominent local flavors in Bitlis cuisine. It reflects the character of the city cuisine with the ingredients and cooking method used in the local table culture.

Broken and washed broad beans (green beans) are boiled in hot salted water for 10 minutes.

Add bulgur and butter to it, cook it over low heat for about 20 minutes until the water evaporates, and let it brew for about 15 minutes.

It is served hot on presentation plates, with fried butter poured on top, if desired.
