Corn bread, the deepest tradition of Zonguldak and the entire Black Sea coast, declares the dominance of corn flour over wheat. Baked in stone ovens or on a griddle, this yellow bread is the indispensable companion of kuymak, black cabbage soup and pan-fried anchovies.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups yellow corn flour
  • 1 glass of hot water
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter or corn oil

Recipe

    Take corn flour in a bowl, add salt and baking powder.

    Add hot water slowly and knead to obtain a soft dough.

    Spread the dough into a greased baking dish.

    Bake in the oven at 180°C for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.

    Serve hot, spread butter on top.
