Kuymak, one of the most unique flavors of the Black Sea, is a creamy dish that emerges from the combination of corn flour and butter with rich local cheese. Adoring breakfast tables in Zonguldak, it is cooked over low heat until the cheese melts and served hot with corn bread.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons corn flour
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • 250 g Black Sea pulled cheese or mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 pinch of salt

Recipe

    Melt the butter in a large pan.

    Add corn flour slowly and fry, stirring for 5 minutes.

    Add water and continue cooking until it thickens.

    Add the grated cheese on top and stir over low heat until the cheese melts.
